PMP Students,

Hope your Spring break is going well. I never see my students on those
MTV Spring break beach party shows, but I'm sure you are finding some
way to enjoy your week "off". A few PMP items for you:

1. Spring Textbook Information

CSEP 545 Transaction Processing: Phil Bernstein will NOT be using the
published version of his textbook (which he is rewriting). Instead he
will hand out draft copies of the rewritten chapters in class. No other
textbook is required.

CSEP 524 Parallel Computation: Larry Snyder likewise will provide
in-class handouts (or make handouts available in other ways) in place of
a required course text while he is revising his textbook.

CSEP 546 Data Mining: Two required textbooks: Data Mining: Concepts
and Techniques by Han and Kamber, and Machine Learning by Mitchell.

2. Colloquia Grades. There has been a slight delay in the input of
Spring colloquia grades. We expect to get them in today so they show up
by the end of the week. I apologize for the delay. I am happy to
report that everyone who enrolled passed the colloquia.

3. Spring PMP Courses. Begin next week! See
http://pmp.cs.washington.edu/curcourses.shtml for places, days and
times. You should be registered for you class by now. If not please do
so as soon as possible. Oh, and please make sure to shake the beach
sand out of your shoes before entering the classroom. :)

As always please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Dave
